Asana raises $75 million

Asana, the work and project tracking application co-founded by Dustin Moskovitz, the Internet entrepreneur who also co-founded Facebook, has raised a $75 million Series D round of financing, with a reported $900 million valuation. The investment was led by Generation Investment Management, a London-based asset manager, co-founded by Al Gore in 2004. Existing investors 8VC, Founders Fund, Sam Altman, and Mr. Moskovitz also participated in the round.

Colin le Duc, one of the firm’s other co-founders and partner of Generation, is joining the Asana board of directors.

In the six years since the company has launched, Asana says it now has more than 30,000 paying customers, with annual recurring revenue growing at 80 per cent.
