Apple Senior Vice President Gets Knighthood

Jonathan Ive, senior vice president, Industrial Design with Apple has been awarded a knighthood. Mr. Ive can now call himself Sir Jonathan, being a Knight Commander of the British Empire (KBE), reports BBC.

Since 1996, the London-born designer has been responsible for leading the design team at Apple. Mr. Ive holds a Bachelor of Arts and an honorary doctorate from Newcastle Polytechnic. In 2003, he was named ‘Designer of the Year’ by the Design Museum London and awarded the title ‘Royal Designer for Industry’ by The Royal Society of Arts.

This knighthood is the second honor for Mr Ive. In 2005 he was made a Commander of the British Empire (CBE).
