Apple Hires Consultant Behind Nike FuelBand

Apple’s smartwatch push is getting closer to reality. The Cupertino giant has hired fitness guru Jay Blahnik, who is also the consultant behind Nike’s FuelBand. Mr. Blahnik is believed to be working with Apple’s wearable computing team working on the smartwatch (or a fitness band, perhaps).

Mr. Blahnik has been a Nike consultant since 1998, according to his LinkedIn profile. He is also the owner of the eponymous Jay Blahnik, Inc., and consultant with Equinox Fitness Clubs, Schwinn Fitness, Gatorade, and Nautilus/Bowflex.  

The hiring was reported by AllThingsD and 9To5Mac.
