Rovio Entertainment has officially launched Angry Birds on Facebook. (Yay!) The new game will feature the usual Angry Birds gameplay, along with Facebook-only social and competitive elements,  new power-ups, and Facebook-exclusive levels.

Petri Järvilehto (SVP, Game Publishing, Rovio): This launch is just the beginning for Angry Birds on Facebook. We have great new features and gameplay lined up for the fans in the upcoming weeks.

Compete with your friends: Social features for Angry Birds on Facebook lets fans compete with friends, brag about their scores, and earn coveted gold, silver, and bronze crowns for the top three scores in any level. Fans can also give their Facebook friends “mystery gifts” of power-ups.

Power-ups: In addition to the Mighty Eagle, Angry Birds on Facebook has new power-ups to help pop even the peskiest piggy. Fans can earn power-ups by playing the game, receiving them as a “mystery gift” from a friend, or purchasing them. To begin with, there are four power-ups available, Sling Scope, King Sling, Super Seeds and Birdquake.
