Google Cloud and AMD have inked a technology partnership in which AMD will run electronic design automation (EDA) for its chip-design workloads on Google Cloud.

AMD will add Google Cloud’s C2D VM instance, incidentally powered by AMD EPYC server processors, to its suite of resources focused on EDA workloads. AMD will also use Google Cloud’s networking, storage, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities, according to the companies.
