Amazon Working On Unmanned Aerial Vehicles For Package Delivery

amazon_droneAmazon says the company has been working on unmanned aerial vehicles at its next generation R&D lab. The drones can get packages into customers’ hands in 30 minutes or less, and can be available as soon as 2015, as part of Amazon Prime Air.

“Safety will be our top priority, and our vehicles will be built with multiple redundancies and designed to commercial aviation standards,” says Amazon. From a technology point of view, the company says it will be ready to enter commercial operations as soon as the necessary regulations are in place, expected to be around 2015.
