Akamai Technologies has entered into an agreement to acquire San Jose, California-based, privately-funded API security company Noname Security, for approximately $450 million. The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2024, subject to customary closing conditions.
With the addition of Noname, Akamai believes it will have the necessary integrations and deployment choices to deliver comprehensive API protection for customers across all environments, the company said in a statement.
Akamai plans to integrate Noname for use by customers of its Application and API platform shortly after the acquisition closes.
Noname has over 200 employees, who are expected to join Akamai’s Security Technology Group following the acquisition.
