Akamai Sells Its Advertising Tech Business

Akamai has sold off its Advertising Decision Solutions (ADS) business to digital media-buying platform MediaMath.

As part of the agreement, MediaMath will acquire the assets associated with Akamai’s ADS business, the data platform and data co-op, and will integrate the Akamai ADS team into its workforce.

The transaction also includes a multi-year agreement that gives MediaMath exclusive access to Akamai’s pixel-free technology for digital marketing applications.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Luma Partners acted as financial advisor to Akamai.
