2012 Marks Final CES Keynote For Microsoft

Microsoft will not have a keynote or booth in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) after next year, though the Redmond giant will continue to participate in CES. Microsoft said the decision to withdraw was because the company’s product news milestones generally did not align with the show’s January timing.

Frank X. Shaw (Corporate vice president, Corporate Communications, Microsoft): We have decided that this coming January will be our last keynote presentation and booth at CES.

The International CES is owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Microsoft’s partnership with CEA dates back to over twenty years. For the last 14 years, Microsoft had been the one to inaugurate CES with the first keynote speech.
