WhatsApp Crosses 500 Million Users

Mobile messaging app WhatsApp has crossed 500 million users. In the last few months, WhatsApp has grown fastest in countries like Brazil, India, Mexico, and Russia, says co-founder CEO Jan Koum. WhatsApp users are sharing more than 700 million photos and 100 million videos every day.

WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook in February this year for $16 billion; the deal is waiting regulatory approvals.
