Galaxy Note Edge Available Mid-November

The Galaxy Note Edge will be available in the U.S. beginning November 14, says Samsung. The Note Edge features a 5.6-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen, with a scrollable screen that wraps around the right edge of the device. Other features include a 16 MP rear-facing camera with 8x digital zoom and a 3.7 megapixel front-facing camera , a 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal memory, and of course the S-pen. The devices will run Android 4.4 (KitKat). The Galaxy Note Edge will be available in black or white from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular.

Wells Fargo Customers Can Use Isis Mobile Wallet

Wells Fargo and Isis, the mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, have signed an agreement that lets Wells Fargo Visa consumer credit card holders to load their cards into the Isis Mobile Wallet. Customers with one of the more than 50 Isis-ready smartphones available from AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless can receive an enhanced SIM card from their wireless carrier and download the Isis Mobile Wallet for free from Google Play.

Use Your Mobile Device As Car Key Or Tool With Verizon And Delphi

Delphi Automotive and Verizon have a vehicle diagnostic tool that lets drivers use a smartphone, laptop or tablet as a key fob. The remote access tool also allows drivers to track, locate, access, secure, or monitor their vehicles online. The system operates through a downloadable Delphi smartphone application, available for Android and iOS, as well as a Delphi website.   The tool works in most vehicles sold in the United States from 1996 onward.  You can see if the diagnostic tool will work with your car at the Delphi website. Google’s Lobbying Spending Soars 90%

Google and Facebook continued pumping money into their lobbying efforts during the second quarter to influence federal lawmakers and regulators, according to disclosure forms filed with the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives, points out Consumer Watchdog. Google's second quarter lobbying spending soared 90 per cent to $3.92 million compared to $2.06 million in the comparable 2011 period, the records filed last Friday night showed. For the first six months of the year Google spent $8.95 million. That compares with $3.54 million in the first six months of 2011. It comes close to the $9.7 million spent in all of 2011. Facebook set a record for its spending as well. The social networking company spent $960,000, a 200 percent increase from $320,000 in the second quarter of 2011. Verizon Spent $138M In Florida For Network Enhancements

Verizon Wireless invested $138 million in network enhancements in Florida during the first six months of 2012 to expand advanced wireless coverage and services to customers across the state, says the company. Verizon’s 4G LTE (Fourth Generation/Long-Term Evolution) network is now available to more than 85 percent of Florida’s population, after first being introduced in December 2010. Nationally, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE covers two-thirds of the U.S. population in more than 330 major markets.

Samsung Galaxy S III Is Almost Here

Hosted, Cloud Services Continue To Grow

Among business data customers, 18 percent are leveraging remote offerings, such as hosted and cloud-based services, up from 12 percent in 2011, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Business Data Satisfaction Study. Price is a differentiating factor in choosing a data service provider, particularly as more companies utilize cloud-based and hosted data services. Nearly forty percent (38%) of business customers that utilize cloud-based or hosted services cite "lower price" as the main reason for choosing their data service provider. Conversely, only 20 percent of business that do not use cloud-based or hosted services cited price as their main reason for selecting their data provider. Verizon Wireless To Conduct Spectrum License Sale

Verizon Wireless says it plans to conduct an open sale process for all of its 700 MHz A and B spectrum licenses. The licenses cover dozens of major cities across the country, as well as a number of smaller and rural markets. Verizon Wireless obtained the 700 MHz A and B licenses, as well as nationwide 700 MHz upper C licenses (with the exception of Alaska which has since been acquired), in FCC Auction 73 in 2008. Verizon Wireless is deploying its 4G LTE network, which currently covers more than 200 million people, on its nationwide 700 MHz upper C spectrum. Verizon LTE Network Covers Two Thirds Of The U.S Population

Verizon is introducing its 4G LTE network in a total of 27 new markets on Thursday, including Ocala, and expanding the service in 44 areas across the United States. Verizon's 4G LTE network is now available to more than two-thirds of the U.S. population in 230 markets, says the company. In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink. Verizon serves around 108 million total wireless connections, including 92.2 million retail customers. Headquartered in Basking Ridge, N.J., with nearly 82,000 employees nationwide, Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications and Vodafone.

CornerStone Signs Cloud Reseller Agreement With Verizon

CornerStone Telephone Company, a provider of advanced communications services, is now working with Verizon Global Wholesale to provide cloud-computing services to CornerStone's business customers. Under the terms of a recently-signed agreement, CornerStone will resell an enterprise-class cloud service from Terremark, Verizon's IT services subsidiary.  The service will be sold under CornerStone's SkySphere brand.  

Verizon To License Veveo Search Technology

Verizon will license certain Veveo technology that can be used to enhance FiOS TV to provide new personalized search capabilities across a TV, phone or tablet.  Veveo's technology personalizes the search and discovery process by allowing customers to browse less and watch more of the programs, movies and other on-demand content that matter most to them. As part of the agreement, Verizon entered into a nonexclusive license of certain Veveo search patents for both TV and mobile devices.  Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.  The parties will also explore expanding their partnership across various lines of business in the future.
