Oracle has signed an agreement to acquire TOA, a company that provides cloud-based field service SaaS solutions. TOA’s solutions manage over 120 million service events annually in more than 20 countries, according to a statement by Oracle. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Oracle has introduced Solaris 11.2, a cloud platform that combines virtualization, application-driven software-defined networking (SDN) technology, and a full OpenStack distribution. Solaris 11.2 Beta is now available for download via Oracle Technology Network (OTN).

Signum Group has been selected by the City of Memphis to implement Oracle Enterprise Asset Management. The project will leverage Oracle eAM and R12 functionality, while integrating mobile work management technology to support general services and public works and improve vehicle fleet and facilities management.

Oracle has signed an agreement to acquire BlueKai, for a reported $400 million. BlueKai provides big data solutions for marketing. The company will be integrated with both Oracle’s Responsys for B2C marketing automation and Eloqua for B2B marketing automation.

Oracle has entered into an agreement to acquire Corente, a provider of software-defined networking (SDN) technology for wide area networks (WANs). Additional details of the transaction were not disclosed.
