Mophie Introduces Battery Cases With Built-In Storage For IPhones

Mophie, the company behind the Juice Pack line of battery cases, is introducing the Space Pack, a smartphone case with built-in storage for iPhone 5s/5 that increases the storage capacity of the phones, while doubling battery life.  Available in 16GB and 32GB models, Space Pack uses the free app Space to let users access content within the space pack and manage files. The mophie Space Pack is available for pre-order for $149.95 (16GB) and $179.95 (32BG). Both the packs go on sale March 2014.

IPhones May Get Curved Glass Screens

Apple is reportedly working on curved-screen smartphones. The devices, expected to be equipped with curved glass screens and enhanced tactile sensors, could hit the shelves as early as next year. According to a report by Tim Culpan and Adam Santariano of Bloomberg, the new Apple handsets are still in development. Other handset manufacturers going the curved road include Samsung and LG.

Apple Sells Nine Million IPhones In Three Days

Apple sold nine million new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c models, in three days after the launch of the new iPhones on September 20. The Cupertino giant sold more phones in three days, than BlackBerry did in its last quarter (six million). IPhone 5S Gold Not Yet Available

Apple calls it champagne, but it is going down in history as the 'gold iPhone'. It is also not available now. As you can see from the image, shipping dates on Apple's website point to a October arrival for the iPhone 5S gold model. With ATT, there is a 21 to 28 days delay in shipping for the iPhone 5S gold. With Verizon, you will not get your phones before November 4, according to their website. T-Mobile is not even offering a shipping date, citing high demand for possible delays. Sprint Users Can Use One Up To Get New Phones

Sprint has launched a program called One Up, that lets users upgrade their smartphone every 12 months. Sprint customers who are not yet upgrade eligible, but have had their current phone for 12 months, can sign up for Sprint One Up, as well. To participate, users purchase an eligible smartphone or tablet and agree to 24 monthly installment payments for the device. For a limited time, customers also enjoy no down payment for the device. After 12 consecutive payments, customers can give back their current device and upgrade to a new smartphone or tablet. With Sprint One Up, participating smartphone customers get unlimited talk, text and data for $65 per month – a $15 per month savings, when compared to current plan rates.

BlackBerry Waiting For Apple To Clear Messenger App For IPhones

European Cable Companies Winning Broadband, Losing TV

Europe's leading cable companies score higher than their rivals in customer satisfaction with broadband service, but trail them in television service. According to a survey from Strategy Analytics, customers of cable companies give them a net promoter satisfaction rating of 66 percent for their broadband service but only 37 percent for their television service. In spite of this, satisfaction with both television and broadband cable services improved during 2012, and improved significantly since 2010. Belkin has signed a multi-year licensing partnership with the Lego Group to create accessories for mobile devices. Starting in spring 2013, Belkin will launch a variety of smartphone cases incorporating Lego bricks for a 'buildable' case experience. Walmart Offering No Interest Financing, $45 Contract For IPhone 5

Walmart is now selling the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 with Straight Talk's $45 no contract unlimited talk, text and data plan. Walmart will also be offering customers who purchase the phone in the store, a no interest fixed-monthly payments special financing offer for only $25 a month with a Walmart Credit Card. The Apple iPhones for Straight Talk will be available for purchase at $649 for the 16 GB iPhone 5. The iPhone 4 will be available in black and white for $449 for the 8GB model. GE Capital Retail Bank is the issuer of the Walmart Credit Cards.

Google has released Google Maps for iPhones. The release was much-anticipated, as Apple's own map and navigational software that comes preloaded with iOS devices is still a work in progress. Google also released the Google Maps SDK for iOS, enabling software developers to build iOS apps around Google Maps. Apple has sold over five million iPhone 5 phones, just three days after its launch on September 21. Even though the debut was impressive, it fell short of expectations. Analysts forecast Apple would sell in the region of 8 million to 10 million phones over the weekend.
