NASA Modifies SAIC Communications Contract

NASA has awarded Science Applications International  (SAIC) of McLean, Va., a modification to its integrated communications services contract at the agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.; Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Va.; and Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York.

SAIC provides voice communication services including procurement implementation and operation of an Internet protocol telephone system. The contract period of performance is June 1, 2011, through May 31, 2021. It includes three base years and 3 options of two years, three years and two years, respectively. The modification increases the existing support contract by more than $25 million from Nov. 1 – May 31, 2021, if all options are exercised.

The contract is managed at the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). The NSSC is a partnership between NASA, business solutions provider CSC and the states of Mississippi and Louisiana. The NSSC performs selected business activities for all 10 NASA centers in financial management, human resources, information technology and procurement.
