Lockheed Martin To Pilot Cloud-Based STEM Capability For Schools

Maryland’s Prince George’s county’s Division of Academics and Office of Information Technology have partnered with Lockheed Martin to pilot a Solutions as a Service (SolaS) secure cloud delivery of STEM solutions for select students and teachers at Fairmont Heights, Suitland and High Point High Schools.

During the 90-day pilot program, Lockheed Martin will work with Cisco,  Men Aiming Higher,  a local community-based organization; and the Prince George’s County Public School System (PGCPS) to provide community cloud and high-definition, communications platforms.

Lockheed Martin says these technologies will help the county to scale equitable access to STEM resources, such as cloud-enabled PGCPS STEM curriculum; high-definition multimedia recordings of discovery-based classroom experiences from mobile devices; and career simulation experiences, without physical or geographical limitations.
