The future of comic books involve tablets and augmented reality, says Marvel, at the SXSW currently being held in Texas. The initiatives are part of ‘Marvel ReEvolution’ where the company is bringing print and digital media together.
Marvel Infinite Comics uses tablets and smartphones for comic book storytelling. The first comic released in this format will be Avengers Vs. X-Men #1 Infinite from creators Mark Waid and Stuart Immonen and available on April 4. Marvel Infinite Comics enhances the print versions with additional digital content.

The Marvel AR app, powered by Aurasma, will be released in April for iOS and Android devices. By opening this app and scanning select Marvel products featuring the Marvel AR logo, readers will be able to unlock exclusive content starring Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Hulk, among others.
