Google Buys Foxconn Imaging Patents For Glass

Google_GlassGoogle has bought virtual imaging patents from Foxconn, reports AFP, based on a document acquired by the news agency. The patents will be reportedly used to enhance Google Glass.

According to a report on AllThingsD by Aries Poon, Hon Hai confirmed the transaction in a statement on Friday, but did not provide any additional details, including the size of the deal.

Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai, is a key supplier of Apple, as well as a stakeholder in GoPro cameras. Foxconn also has a stake in Himex Technologies, a company that makes the chips used in Google Glass.
