Facebook Launches Facebook Stories

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Facebook has launched Facebook Stories, a new site dedicated to sharing stories and ideas from the more than 950 million people around the world who make up Facebook’s community. Facebook Stories will feature a new collection of stories each month, with a common theme running through them. For the month of August, for example, Facebook is highlighting stories about memories. You get to read about Mayank Sharma, a 29-year-old man from New Delhi, India, whose entire memory was lost after he contracted tubercular meningitis; and how he is using the social network’s ‘People You May Know’ feature to piece together the time he lost.

Along with stories from its user communities, a few other features are going to be a regular part of the Facebook Stories site. The Bookshelf feature will include a Goodreads list of books on the theme of the month.  The Reading List will give users access to the archives of media powerhouses like The New Yorker.  The Playlist will use Spotify to let users explore different genres of music curated by inspiring artists.
