Dell was awarded a five-year, $120+ million, Information Technology Infrastructure Support Services (ITISS) contract, by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), with comprehensive IT infrastructure, application and user support services. The two companies have a 11-year relationship. The CDC, located in Atlanta, Ga., is an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Yahoo has appointed Mike Kail as CIO and SVP, Infrastructure. He will be heading Yahoo’s IT and data center operations, reporting to CEO Marissa Mayer. Most recently, Mr. Kail served as VP of IT Operations at Netflix. Prior to that, he was VP of IT Operations at Attensity. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Iowa State University. Oracle has signed an agreement to acquire TOA, a company that provides cloud-based field service SaaS solutions. TOA’s solutions manage over 120 million service events annually in more than 20 countries, according to a statement by Oracle. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

RealNetworks has appointed Rob Glaser, founder of the company, permanent CEO. Mr. Glaser founded RealNetworks in February 1994 and served as its CEO until January 2010. He was named interim CEO in July 2012. Mr. Glaser lives in Seattle with his three children and his partner Maggie Savarino.
