Bill Gates, Tenaya Capital Invest In ResearchGate

ResearchGate, a professional network for scientists, has received a new investment from Bill Gates and Tenaya Capital. Dragoneer Investment Group, Thrive Capital and the company’s existing investors Benchmark Capital and Founders Fund also participated in the round. The total investments received is pegged at $35 million.

ResearchGate was founded in 2008 by the physicians Dr. Ijad Madisch and Dr. Sören Hofmayer along with computer specialist Horst Fickenscher. The network currently has more than 2.9 million researchers publishing their findings on the site
