AARP, University of Illinois opening technology lab for research

AARP and the University of Illinois are opening The Tech Nest, a new technology lab at the University of Illinois Research Park. The new lab, a 2,700 square-foot facility, enables AARP to collaborate with students and faculty on technology-based research and solutions to address the needs of the 50-plus population.

In a statement, the non-profit organization said the new lab will focus on developing prototypes in the fields of artificial intelligence, mobile apps, information security, biometrics and software engineering.

The University of Illinois Research Park is home to innovation centers for multinational corporations and publicly traded firms including ADM, John Deere, Yahoo, Anheuser-Busch Caterpillar, State Farm, and Capital One.
